Alfalfa

natural acne treatment

Herbs and plants are the groundwork of many natural acne treatment methods. Alfalfa (also known as Medicago Sativa) is a perennial flowering plant native to Iran. It has to its credit some wonderful cures; it is one of the foods to alleviate acne. It is a natural plant source of vitamins A, B1, B6, C, E and K. Alfalfa leaf is a powerful cleansing agent that removes toxins from the body. Cucumber juice only or mixed with juices of lettuce, carrot or alfalfa is being considered as an excellent home remedy for acne.

There have been reports of the alfalfa juice being effective in clearing up back acne. You may have to wait for 3-4 weeks to see some positive results. The super nutrition content, combined with the high amounts of chlorophyll, make this herb an extraordinary healer. It also contains an anti- fungus agent which alkalizes and detoxifies the skin.

Alfalfa sprouts are also known to purify the blood and provide acne free glowing skin. Alfalfa sprouts give your organs a chance to recover and get rid of the unwanted elements in your body. Slowly but surely, the liver, kidneys and skin recover from the abuse of impurities and start functioning at optimal levels once again. This eventually leads to clearing of dermatological problems including eczema and acne.

Alfalfa can also be ground down into powder form and then made into a paste, forming a treatment for acne that can be applied onto the skin. A herbal tea paste is known to do wonders to the acne affected skin. Combine 2 parts dandelion root, 2 parts red clover, 1 part alfalfa leaf, 1 part Echinacea root, and 1/2 part capsicum together into a paste and apply to the acne affected areas of the skin. This paste is said to work very well for people with acne.
