Parsley is one of the most popular herbs. It has a delicious and vibrant taste, and wonderful healing properties that often get ignored Parsley is known to help tighten and stimulate the skin, balance the secretion of sebum in excessively oily or inflamed skin, purify the skin while soothing it, and fight bacterial infections.

Parsley, irrespective of its leaf type is rich in high amounts of ascorbic acid contents and hence works as an excellent natural blood cleanser. Also, it is a wonderful oil-reducing astringent. It has natural softening properties that help naturally dislodge blackheads. Parsley also possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties to combat acne.

Ways of using parsley for acne treatment

Wash parsley thoroughly and process it in a blender or food processor just until smooth. Prepare a facial steam by boiling a pot of water, removing it from the heat and allowing it to cool slightly. Apply the green substance to a clean face, focusing on areas prone to blackheads like forehead, hairline and nose. Wrap a towel over the pot and steam your skin over the pot for about 5 minutes. Rinse off the mixture and use an exfoliating facial scrub to gently break up dead skin cells and dislocate blackheads. This further on helps prevent acne breakouts.

Pour one cup of boiling water to a large handful of chopped parsley leaves. Cover the bowl and allow it to stand until it reaches room temperature. Strain the parsley and water, and then apply the liquid to your face as a compress. Leave it for fifteen minutes. This can be used daily. It can help to clear up your complexion and unclog your pores, thus prevent acne breakouts.

Parsley face mask can be applied to oily skin with acne eruptions. Mix 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley with 3 teaspoons of sour cream, and apply to face. Wash off after 10 minutes using lukewarm water. Using this facial mask at least once a week can help cleanse the skin of impurities and make it healthier by preventing acne breakouts.

Though a smelly concept, pulverized garlic and parsley can be used to make a wonderful poultice for acne. Take a nylon cloth and fill it with a pulverized garlic clove and a teaspoon of shredded parsley. Before application, soak the nylon in warm black tea. Apply to heavy acne breakouts and hold against skin until cool. It is said to work well against acne.
